The budding CBD industry is beginning to bloom and as it does, the women of the industry are poised for success.

Women make up 59 percent of consumers of hemp-derived CBD, so it makes complete sense that many are starting victorious CBD ventures.

To mark International Women’s Day 2019, we want to talk about some of the leading ladies in the business.

Krista Whitley

Krista Whitley founded Altitude products which is one of the fasting growing CBD companies in the business. She started the company from her sofa in Nevada and it has since grown into an award-winning empire with a 100 percent female Board of Directors!

Krista’s recent campaign for the company was ‘Fighting For Equality’ during the Las Vegas Pride parade. Altitude donated five percent of their total company earnings for the month of June to The Centre in Las Vegas, an LGBTQ+ community centre.

She is an advocate in self love and body confidence too.

“Rhinos are unicorns with curves” Krista said during a conference to encourage others to be comfortable in their own skin. It seems that any community worth being a strong advocate for, Krista is a true role model.

Martha Stewart

Who could’ve predicted this? Martha Stewart is planning on launching CBD products for humans and their pets. Her plan is to team up with Canopy Growth which became the first cannabis company in North America to be publicly traded in April 2014.

“I’m especially looking forward to our first collaboration together, which will offer sensible products for people’s beloved pets,” the animal lover said announcing the news.

Being a strong animal rights advocate and having launched a vegan shoe range along with regularly promoting vegan and veggie recipes, it is no surprise that Martha is focusing on helping animals. Martha is also an advocate for the power of women and has worked with The Empowerment Plan, a group devoted to making homeless women self-sufficient.

Gwyneth Paltrow

We all know Gwyneth from her Oscar winning performances, but did you know she is also a successful business women and a total women’s wellness influencer? She recently claimed responsibility for starting a yoga trend going gluten free.

Founder of Goop, an all-round female lifestyle business that is made for women, Gwyneth inspires the women of today to not only look after themselves but encourages them to follow their dreams. Two employees of the Goop empire have started a spinoff of the brand, focusing on CBD. Fleur Marché is also geared towards women and stocks products such as menstrual pain relief oils, edibles and lotions.

Alexis Rosenbaum

Within Alexis’s Instagram bio she describes herself as an “Entrepreneur, cannabis professional, wife & hopeful mother & more that doesn’t fit here.”

We can fit a little more in, so let us elaborate.

Alexis founded Rosebud CBD in April 2018 after debunking her own CBD concerns through trialling holistic remedies to help with work related stress and anxiety.

Before long she implemented a daily dose of cannabinoid into her self-care regime and never looked back.

In one short year both Alexis and Rosebud have gone from strength-to-strength. This month, the brand will host a female targeted event.

Rosebud CBD – Women in Cannabis will be a weekend filled with influential women who are making a mark in the cannabis industry, giving talks, having discussions and imteractive pop-ups. It sounds fantastic – we wish we could attend ourselves.

 

 

Brandi Leifso

Starting from more than humble beginnings, Brandi was living in a women’s safe house when she founded the concept for Evelyn Lona, a natural organic makeup brand that is good for your skin, the planet and community.

Brandi is clearly a determined and passionate woman, reaching out and quickly forming successful business relationships with 50 coveted retailers including QVC.

Her rapid success has never made Brandi stray away from her core values she first implemented from within the women’s shelter.

Her latest brand Evio Beauty Group has a strong mission to break stigmas to fulfil their vision of a conscious future and they are well and truly maintaining that momentum.

The Evio Beauty portfolio has its own online community that instigates stimulating conversation, collects data on beauty, cannabis, fashion, feminism, wellness and entrepreneurship.
